Time Flies!

I cannot believe that we are more than halfway through 2010! Not to mention a new school year is about to arrive and my two older children will begin fifth and third grade. Seems like yesterday they were toddling around and pronouncing words in their own language! I can remember as a child, I often dreaded the "back to school" commercials. They got earlier and earlier, or it seemed, every summer! The stores start the hype in July for their big number in sales to rise and the poor kids are dreading every minute of returning to the big number in fundraiser sales, text book fees, and lunch money accounts to control!!!! Yes, in Tecumseh Local School District, Ohio, our children are learning how to "manage" a debit account for their lunch money. Well, my 11 year old son has yet to learn how to keep his funds in the positive!! How on earth does he spend over two dollars and twenty five cents a day on lunch??? I have yet to find out. I sure hope he gets a handle on this before the checking account is active or boy is he in for a rude awakening!!! My eight year old daughter doesn't do too bad. Normally, she tries to pack her lunch and buy on days that she likes what is available. In addition to that, she tries to "make her money last". My children are showing me how fast time flies in a pinch.

Blogging and Chocolate Milk

I am attending college through and online university and my professor instructed her class to develop a "blog" site. My guess is to collaborate ideas and maybe become a bit more internet savvy???? (Hense the 'online' atmosphere) So, here it is. It only took me a week to learn how to POST to my newly born blog!! Not to mention several hours to even incorporate the name, let alone the URL link. I thought I was pretty good with computers till this.

This evening, I had class for composition 2. It was very engaging and eventful. We had alot of class participation; as I am struggling to hear my teacher, my two year old is continually reminding me of his need for "chocolate milk". I am alone, with my precious chocolate milk lover, and my husband has our older two children at football/cheer camp. I quickly endulge my babe and head back to virtual class.
To my demise, mr. chocolate milk lover has chugged his freshly made cup! We were back at the pressing, "chocolate milk" or in his words, " cocate molk" along with MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY! and pretty hard tapping on the arm with each yell. My children are very precious to me, even in times when I am gritting my teeth so hard, it is hard to unclench to nearly yell, "just a minute!"
Once again, I ran to the refrigerator and pulled out the gallon of milk and chocolate syrup. Only this time, there was right around a tablespoon left. OH NO! Gotta think fast. I scanned the kitchen. Ran and unplugged the headphones from the laptop, so I could at least hear the professor's voice just not the words, and thought, hot chocolate mix!! Eureka!! So, I quickly turned the hot water tap on. Let it run a few seconds, till it was kinda warm, and filled his cup. Then, I added hot chocolate mix. Two scoops and splash of cold water. Presto! Cocate molk. Well, in pinch it is. That held us both until the end of "class".
